For more serious usage where a good beam length is required – this head torch has a separate lightweight battery pack (worn at the back of the head) and a compact lighting bezel. Rated at 85 Lumens (150 Lumens in boost mode) it is over 3 x brighter than the Tikka/Zipka and gives a beam length typically up to about 40 metres ( up to 97 metres in boost mode) Uses high output LED technology to provide up to 180 h battery life (in economy mode) – takes 3 x AA batteries (supplied) - Use alkaline batteries or NiMH rechargeable batteries - do not use Lithium batteries (can cause damage to LED)
Operates in 4 modes; one click for maximum power and one click to turn off, 2 rapid clicks to select optimum level, 3 rapid clicks for economy level and 4 rapid clicks for blinking mode. In all modes there is the option of standard beam or flipping up the diffuser plate for proximity lighting. There is a separate switch for boost mode – holding this down gives 50% more light than when the unit is set to maximum and will operate for 20 seconds before returning to maximum setting. One important feature of the Myo XP is the battery indicator – blinks green when batteries are fresh, turns orange when they are approx. 70 % depleted and turns red when they are 90% depleted.
