New Product - The reverso 3 is a multi purpose belay / abseil device with standard mode & reverso mode.In reverso mode the device is set up for use in the normal fashion but then suspended by a second karabiner from the large hole. (useful for direct belaying and or bringing two seconds up simultaneously) - in this 'Reverso 'mode the device will also self lock - the weight on the live rope forcing both strands deeper into the devices asymmetric V shaped grooved friction channels. These channels regulate the amount of friction and therefore breaking effect depending on the diameter of the rope and its condition. Once lock up has occurred the nose of a small karabiner can be used in the small hole as a lever to release the device. Though sounding complicated this is actually a simple intuitive device to use with no moving parts. Many people will simply use it in standard mode for belaying and abseiling - in this mode it is easy to use and will handle all common rope diameters without any compromise in breaking effect. For use with ropes from 7.5 twin, half ropes from 8.1mm and single ropes from 8.9mm through to 11mm.Weight 78g
