Petzl Shunt – included here under ascenders as it can be used effectively as an ascender but is ideally suited and most used as a back up / safety device when abseiling. Also often used for self belaying - although there are dangers associated with this practice particularly on overhanging routes/sections. Suitable for use on single ropes 10-11mm and double ropes 8 -11mm in diameter. Weight 188g
